”Be More Chill” fans rejoice!! Joe Iconis has a new show. It’s about teenagers. Bad girls, really bad girls, in fact, it takes place in a juvie hall in the 1960s. It’s called “Love In Hate Nation.”
The world premiere is at the same theater that launched and will have its world premiere Nov. 9 in the same theater that launched ”Be More Chill.”
“Love In Hate Nation” is scheduled to run from Nov. 9-Dec. 1, 2019, at the Two River Theater in Red Bank, NJ.
Described as a turbulent rock romance, it uses classic “bad girl” movies as its inspiration for the story of a changing America and a “revolution in the institution.”
Iconis wrote the music, lyrics and book. The show takes its musical inspiration from the Girl Group pop wall of sound filtered through a punk-rock spirit.
