Awards Seasons

And the NYC theater award season is beginning to pick up speed.

The Drama League, an organization “dedicated to building theater audiences and supporting artists,”” announced it’s 2015-16 nominees on April 21. To view its nominees for the 2015-16 season, click here.

The Drama Desk Awards nominations were announced April 28th at Feinstein’s/54 Below. Its mission is “promote and support artistic excellence in the New York professional theater, in its multitude of forms and styles and on stages of various sizes and configurations.” To view its nominations, click here.

The Outer Critics Circle Awards is the “official organization of writers on the New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications, and other media beyond Broadway.” To view its nominations, click here.

The 70th annual Tony Award nominations will be announced May 3 and can be seen in a webcast at or on CBS-TV.

Presentation dates; some open to the public

The Drama League Awards  will be handed out at the organization’s annual luncheon May 20. Zachary Levi and Megan Hilty will host the ceremony.

The Outer Critics Circle Awards will be  presented at the 66th annual awards dinner at Sardi’s Restaurant May 26

The 61st Drama Desk Awards ceremony is scheduled June 5 The Town Hall, 123 W. 43rd St.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast June 12 on CBS-TV beginning at 8 p.m. from the Beacon Theatre in NYC. The Tony Awards’ website also cover the end, including the Red Carpet, Press Room Cam, Acceptance Speeches, Creative Arts Awards, and more.
