Reimagined  “Sound of Music” opening scene from the film version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, starring Julie Andrews.

Analog Spark, a new label for reissues of music on vinyl, makes its debut by celebrating the 50th anniversary edition of the newly remastered “The Sound of Music” on vinyl. Yep, vinyl.  The stuff your parents and grandparents and maybe even great-grandparents spun on record players a long time ago.

Guess you’d better dust off your turntable if you want to enjoy new introductory notes from Julie Andrews and get a copy of the eight-page booklet that accompanied the original vinyl release. Ain’t retro grand?

  1. Oddly enough, I recently got a record player (it also has a cd player and an mp3 outlet, so it’s not very retro), but I have really been enjoying digging up the old records of my parents and buying used ones. My copy of The Sound of Music I have from my grandmother is a bit scratched, though. 🙂
